The heart in which love and compassion for all living beings resides

A fakir once set out on a long journey, carrying with him a bundle filled with bread to eat on the way. At the end of the first day on the road he came to a small mosque, and there he rested for the night. Resuming his journey early the next morning, he walked at a brisk pace for about ten miles and then decided to have a bite to eat. But when he opened his bundle, he found that his bread was full of ants. “Ah, that is too bad,” he thought. “For I have taken these poor ants a long way away from their home in that mosque. How they must be longing to see their parents, children and friends." Filled with solicitude for the welfare of the ants, the fakir retraced his steps and took the ants back to their home in the little mosque. “The heart in which love and compassion for all living beings resides, can have no room for seeking after personal pleasures.”

The Wisdom In Islam

“Wisdom In Islam” encompasses in its radiant words the true goals that all of us must strive for. Its bounty of mercy, forgiveness and guidance is stunning in its clarity. Imagine using this wonderful guidance on a regular basis? It is important to endeavor to practice and then to invite others to practice these beautiful words of wisdom.

A Bedouin came one day to the Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him) and said to him, O Messenger of Allah! I've come to ask you a few questions about the affairs of this life and the Hereafter.”

Ask what you wish.

-I’d like to be the most learned of men.
Fear Allah, and you will be the most learned of men.

-I wish to be the richest man in the world.
Be contented, and you will be the richest man in the world.

-I’d like to be the most just of men.
Desire for others what you desire for yourself, and you will be the most just of men.

-I want to be the best of men.
Do good to others and you will be the best of men.

- I wish to be the most favored by Allah.
Engage much in Allah’s praise, and you will be most favored by Him.

-I’d like to complete my faith.
If you have good manners you will complete your faith.

-I wish to be among those who do good.
Adore Allah as if you see Him. If you don’t see Him, He sees you.
In this way you will be
among those who do good.

-I wish to be obedient to Allah.
If you observe Allah’s commands you will be obedient.

-I’d like to be free from all sins.
Bathe yourself from impurities and you will be free from all sins.

-I’d like to be raised on the Day of Judgment in the light.
Don’t wrong yourself or any other creature, and you will be raised on the Day of Judgment in the light.

-I’d like Allah to bestow His mercy on me.
If you have mercy on yourself and on others, Allah will grant you mercy on the Day of Judgment.

-I’d like my sins to be very few.
If you seek the forgiveness of Allah as much as you can; your sins will be very few.

-I’d like to be the most honorable man.
If you do not complain to any fellow creature, you will be the most honorable of men.

-I’d like to be the strongest of men.
If you put your trust in Allah, you be the strongest of men.

-I’d like to enlarge my provision.
If you keep yourself pure, Allah will enlarge your provision.

-I’d like to be loved by Allah and His messenger.
If you love what Allah and His messenger love you will be among their beloved ones.

-I wish to be safe from Allah’s wrath on the Day of Judgment.
If you do not lose your temper with any of your fellow creatures,
you will be safe from the
wrath of Allah on the Day of Judgment.

-What will save me from sins?
Tears, humility and illness.

-What are the best deeds in the eyes of Allah?
Gentle manners, modesty and patience.

-What are the worst evils in the eyes of Allah?
Hot temper and miserliness.

-What assuages the wrath of Allah in this life and in the Hereafter?
Concealed charity and kindness to relatives.

-What extinguishes hell’s fires on the Day of Judgment?
Patience in adversity and misfortunes.

“I have never heard a tradition more comprehensive of the beauties of religion,
and more beneficial than this hadith. It collects all the good things of Islam.”
(Related by Imam Ibn Hambal).

A Saudi father pardoned his son’s killer if he successfully memorized the Holy Quran, a local newspaper reported on Saturday.

Rabi’a al-Dousary, father of the slain young man named Abdullah, promised to pardon the convicted felon, Faisal al-Ameri, if he successfully memorized all of the Holy Quran before leaving prison, al-Yawm Saudi newspaper reported.

Ameri was sentenced to death for killing Dousary during a quarrel that erupted in their neighborhood.

The Higher Committee of Correction in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom has persuaded the father to forgive and pardon Ameri.

The father, who refused to receive any blood money, to teach the Ameri a far more valuable lesson, insisted on one condition: the killer to fully memorize the Quran before his acquittal from prison.

This is the true passion of Islam, This is the true mercy from believer of Allah, This is the lesson every Muslim brother and sister need to learn.. To be believer we must be kind and merciful to all humanity,

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing on him) said

Kindness is a mark of faith, and whoever is not kind has no faith. (Muslim)

Allah will not give mercy to anyone, except those who give mercy to other creatures. (Abdullah b. Amr: Abu Dawud & Tirmidhi)

No hajj or jihad is more difficult than imprisoning the tongue..

A scholar was invited to dinner one evening where he overheard two people engaged in backbiting at the dinner table.

He turned to them and said,

“Brothers, it is interesting that most people start their dinner with bread but you two have started your dinner by eating the flesh of your dead brother.”

“A SHIP DOES NOT SAIL ON DRY LAND”

“Say: ‘O ‘Ibaadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allaah, verily, Allaah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft‑Forgiving, Most Merciful"
[al-Zumar (39):53]
Abu’l Atahiyya wrote to Harun ar-Rashid
“Do not feel secure from death at any time
Even if you seek protection in your advisor’s and your guards,
know that the arrows of death are always pointing in our direction,
whatever armour and shields we may have.
Do you hope for forgiveness, when you have not trodden its paths?
A ship does not sail on dry land.”

Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said

The believers, in their mutual mercy, love and compassion, are like a (single) body, if one part of it feels pain, the rest of the body will join it in staying awake and suffering fever.

Plentiful Charity as per Islamic Teachings

From the morals and manners of the Salaf was that they would practice abundant charity with ah that was beyond their needs, day and night, secretly and openly. Whoever did not have food or wealth to spend, they would be charitable by sparing the people their harms and by bearing the harms of others.

Allaah the Most High said, "Those who spend their wealth by night and day, in secret and in public, shall have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve." [Sooratul-Baqarah (2):274] He also said, "You shall not attain piety (birr) until you spend out of that which you love. Whatever good you spend Allaah knows well." [Soorah Aali-'lmraan (3):92]

'Abdul-'Azeez ibn 'Umair (rahimahullaah), said, "Salaat will reach you half the road, fasting lets you reach the door of the king, and charity allows you to enter into the king's company." He also used to say, "Wealth to us are deposits for generosity."

Their manners was to smile cheerfully at the face of the beggar and not to suspect him. They would always think that he only begged out of dire need.

Sufyaan ath-Thawri (rahimahullaah), used to be overjoyed if he saw beggar at his door saying, "Welcome to the one who has come wash my sins."

Fudhayl ibn 'Iyaad (rahimahullah), said, "Beggars are such good people! They carry our provision to the Afterlife without pay me until they place it on the scale in front of Allaah the Most High."

When Friends Become Enemies

Allaah, the Most High, says:

الْأَخِلَّاء يَوْمَئِذٍ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ إِلَّا الْمُتَّقِينَ

Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except the pious who fear Allaah (al-Muttaqoon).” az-Zukhruf (43):67

Indeed the enmity between these friends springs from the source of their worldly love of one another since they united upon evil, and were indulgent with regard to one another’s misguidance. So on that Day they will blame one another for the consequences of their misguidance and the result of their evil. On that Day they will become adversaries heaping abuse on one another when once they had been friends who exchanged secrets. On that Day the oppressor who loved unjustifiably will bite his hand in regret, remorse and distress – and regret will be of no benefit then.

“And (remember) the Day when the wrongdoer will bite his hands, he will say: ‘Oh! Would that I had taken a path with the Messenger (Muhammad salAllaahu alayhi wasallam). Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a friend! He indeed led me astray from the Reminder (the Qur’aan) after it had come to me. And Satan is ever a deserter to man in the hour of need.’”

al-Furqaan (25):27-29

All his friends round about will be silent as he raises his grieving voice in mournful tones, but no one will respond to him, he has lost every loved one and close friend, so he begins to bite his hands in regret, remorse and sorrow … and biting on one hand will not suffice him, rather he bites one and then the other or both together due to severe anguish.

Whilst the former friends are lost in their recriminations and their regrets, those who loved one another for Allaah’s sake and formed ties for Him and were sincere towards each other will be surrounded with security, calm and tranquility.

يَا عِبَادِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ وَلَا أَنتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَ

“My worshippers! No fear shall be on you this Day nor shall you grieve.”

az-Zukhruf (43):68

‘O Allaah, gather our hearts upon your prescribed way, and make us from those who love You, and from those who love those who love You, since we know that a person will be raised up along with those he loves.’

From Anas ibn Maalik who said that a man said to the Prophet (salAllaahu alayhi wasallam), “When will the Hour be, O Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “What have you prepared for it?” He said: “I have not prepared for it a great deal of prayer, fasting or charity, but I love Allah and His Messnger.” He (salAllahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, “You will be with those whom you love.”1
